The Ladies Literary Club of Wayne is hosting a Michigan-Made FUNdraiser on Tuesday, October 18, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. The FUNdraiser benefits their yearly scholarships to senior females, one from Wayne Memorial High School and one from John Glenn High School. Products for sale are all handmade Michigan-Made products. Come support local businesses. Entrance fee is $5 and includes an entry for the Michigan-Made raffle basket. Event is at First Congregational Church, 2 Towne Square, Wayne.
Wayne Ripple Effect to celebrate past volunteers
Wayne Ripple Effect, formerly Wayne Main Street, is hosting a Volunteer Appreciation and Thank You Event on Saturday, October 15, from Noon-4:00 p.m. The event will be at Goudy Park and will celebrate past volunteers. The free event will include music by Abbigale Rose, pumpkin painting, games, costume contest, Heavenly Hotdogs, Thank you t-shirts, candy giveaway, and Kona Ice. This event is in lieu of the annual Scarecrow Contest.
Looking for high school senior girls for scholarship program
The Distinguished Young Woman of Wayne County program is recruiting girls from the Class of 2023 for the next Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program being held on November 18, 2022 at Wayne Memorial High School. There is an Orientation Event being held on Sunday, October 23, at 12:30 p.m. at the William P. Faust Public Library, 6123 Central City Parkway, in Westland. The meeting will run no longer than an hour. There will be plenty of time for questions.
The DYW program is part of a national program that empowers young women to reach their full potential by providing scholarships, life skills workshops, and a positive peer network.
