Superintendent announces retirement
Wayne-Westland Community Schools Superintendent Greg Baracy announced his retirement effective July 1, 2014. With a 17-year tenure he is the longest serving superintendent in Wayne-Westland’s history.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the children and community in a district in which I grew up, attended its schools (Grades K-12) and currently reside,” Baracy said. “Every decision we made was based upon serving the best interests of children, expanding educational opportunities and positively impacting the community.”
Baracy said he is looking forward to fishing, hunting, traveling, tinkering with his 1926 Model T Ford and spending quality time with his family.
