Community clean-up Day for Downtown
Wayne Main Street will host a downtown Wayne Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, September 16th, from 9 a.m.-1p.m.
Wayne Main Street will be holding their annual Fall Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, September 16, from 9am-Noon. This annual event brings together members of the various community groups in Wayne along with residents and other community volunteers to clean up Goudy Park and the downtown area.
Last fall, approximately 100 people came out to help keep Wayne beautiful. Wayne Main Street partners with the City of Wayne, Wayne Rotary, Wayne Rotary Interact, Wayne Historical Society, Ford Wayne Assembly Plant, Healthy Wayne, Jaycees, JROTC, the Wayne Court and River Restorations at these clean-up events. “The citizens of Wayne take pride in their community. We are thankful for each person who volunteers their time on a Saturday morning to come out and help. And who knows? Maybe there will be painted rocks to be found as part of the Wayne Rocks kindness movement.
Who wouldn’t want their day brightened by a little colorful treasure?” says Carolyn Marnon, Wayne Main Street Board Secretary and Chairperson of the Design Committee.
This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals, families, and community service groups. You can pre-register online at https://www.-event-brite.com/e/wayne-community-clean-up-day-september-16th-tickets-37394925228?aff=es2.
Registration will take place in Goudy Park (located at 3355 S. Wayne Rd). Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and long sleeves and bring a pair of gloves. Light refreshments will be available. Parking will be available in the City Hall parking lot.
