Main Street Committee to visit Downtown Wayne
The Wayne Ripple Effect has submitted their 233 page application to Michigan Main Street program. They hope it is accepted and they will get to move from associate level to select level.
Wayne Ripple Effect member Cindy Schofield said, “The State of Michigan will be in Wayne in January to do an on-site visit and will meet with the Wayne Ripple Effect to ask any questions they have with the application.”
There will be a community meeting in Lansing on Feb. 5 and on Feb. 9 the selected cities will be announced.
The Main Street Program is an effort to revitalize downtowns and help improve economic conditions in selected cities. If Wayne is chosen they will get $200,000 in resources from the state.
“We look forward to partnering with the city to make a revitalized downtown a reality,” Schofield said.
