Rapid Transit along Michigan Avenue
Building Equitable Sustainable Transit (BEST) will be holding a fall public meeting in Wayne on Monday, October 12, 4-7 p.m. at the Wayne Historical Museum. BEST: Michigan Avenue is a planning study to evaluate a wide range of transit options to connect Wayne and Washtenaw counties with safe, modern and efficient public transportation services along Michigan Avenue.
This community meeting is being held to obtain input from residents, businesses and major institutions. This community input will have a key role in shaping the study’s recommendations. According to Michael Ford, CEO, Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan, “We need to know what you want. The transit plan for Michigan Avenue won’t work without your suggestions and ideas. This is really going to be the people’s plan.”
If you are interested in transportation along Michigan Avenue as it flows through Wayne, attend this meeting. Give your ideas and feedback. This is an excellent chance to make your voice heard before the plan goes forward. Don’t be the person who complains because a bus stop was put in spot X when you really thought it should have gone in spot Y. Come out and speak up!
