Karen Marie Provey passed away in Fort Myers,
Florida on February 8, 2024 surrounded by her long
time partner, Grace Calhoun. She was 69 years old
and formerly from Wayne-Westland, Michigan.
Karen was born on April 17, 1954 in Ypsilanti,
Michigan to Roger Robert Provey Sr. and Florence
Marie (Kroenberg) Provey. She grew up in Wayne,
Michigan attending Benjamin Franklin Junior High
and Wayne Memorial High School. She traveled to
California and graduated from Belmont High School
in Los Angeles, California.
She had a career with the United States Postal
Service. After retirement, Karen moved to Fort
Myers, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Andre La
Velle.
Karen is survived by her life long partner, Grace Calhoun, brothers;
Wayne LaVelle of Santa Rosa, California, Douglas LaVelle and his wife,
Christina, of Temecula, California, Roger Provey Jr. of River Rouge. Michi-
gan, Craig Provey of Spring Hill, Tennessee. Many nieces and nephews,
grand nieces , nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Karen will have cremation. Those who wish to remember Karen in a spe-
