4 THE COURT: Do you understand you have the
5 right to call your own witnesses to court?
6 DEFENDANT SANDERS: Yes.
7 THE COURT: Do you understand you have the
8 right to have the court subpoena or summon the witnesses
9 on your behalf requiring them to appear?
10 DEFENDANT SANDERS: Yes.
11 THE COURT: Do you understand you have the
12 right to remain silent at a trial and you cannot be
13 compelled to testify?
14 DEFENDANT SANDERS: Yes.
15 THE COURT: Do you understand you have the
16 right to not have that silence used against you? So, in
17 other words, if you decided to proceed to trial and not
18 testify, I would instruct the jury that they could not
19 hold that silence against you.
